AFI was founded in 1981 with a simple idea: furniture should be thoughtfully designed, dependable, and made for the way people really live.
More than 40 years later, that idea continues to guide our work. We create furnishings that balance style, function, durability, and value with pieces made to adapt to real homes, changing lifestyles, and everyday routines.

We continue to improve our packaging with recycled cartons, eco-friendly padding, biodegradable plastics, and reduced non-biodegradable content.

At AFI Furnishings, we believe meaningful impact starts close to home. From South Deerfield, Massachusetts, we support local jobs, invest in the spaces where we work, and contribute to organizations that help strengthen the communities around us.
We are a continuous supporter of the Connecticut River Conservancy, and our giving has also included support for organizations such as Kestrel Land Trust, Soldier On, UMass Amherst, South County Senior Center, The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, Not Bread Alone, and the Springfield Rescue Mission.
Beyond our local region, we support national nonprofits focused on health, veterans, children, animals, conservation, and humanitarian causes.
